Update for March 23, 2020-
In accordance with the Office of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Baton Rouge, Mater Dolorosa will continue with distance learning while our schools are not in session.
As a reaction to new mandates from the Governor’s Office as well as feedback from our parents, the following adjustments will be made:
Due to the Stay at Home Order issued by Governor Edwards, we will not be able to do our Tuesday drop off and pick up work.
Until further notice all teachers will be either emailing, using Class Dojo, or Remind apps, or RenWeb to send work to the students.
Please be sure to check your email, Dojo or Remind, and RenWeb a few times a day to check for assignments.
If you need help with RenWeb you can email Erin, and she will help you get set up.
Students can send their completed assignments through email by scanning it or taking a picture and email it to their teacher. If you are unable to do that just save all their work and we will collect it when this is all over.
Please reach out to your child's teacher/teachers if you need anything. The office will remain closed at this time. Erin and Mrs. Little have emails if you need anything. Please let us know if you have any questions.
We pray that all of our students and their families remain safe during this time of crisis in our country.
Decision on School Closings: (March 16, 2020)
Today Governor Jon Bel Edwards issued an Executive Order closing public schools until April 13. In the spirit of that proclamation and for the safety of all involved in the ministry of Catholic education, schools in the Diocese of Baton Rouge will not conduct classes and activities during that time.
Each school will communicate policies and procedures for online lessons directly to parents and students. While students and faculty are working off-site, credit for attendance will be given.
Melanie B. Palmisano, Ed. D.
Diocese of Baton Rouge Superintendent of Catholic Schools
Mater Dolorosa Catholic School will follow the above policy.
In order not to lose instructional time, packets will be available on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. All students are responsible for picking up and completing their assignments. These assignments will be graded. We will send out more information as it become available.
Please stay safe and keep our school and community in your prayers.
